Call for Papers & Posters

The leading North American technical conference on powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials, PowderMet2021 is a hub for technology transfer for professionals from every part of the PM industry, including buyers and specifiers of metal powders, tooling and compacting presses, sintering furnaces, furnace belts, powder handling and blending equipment, quality-control and automation equipment, particle-size and powder-characterization equipment, consulting and research services, and much, much more.

Submit your technical paper or poster to be considered for inclusion in the 2021 technical program.

All technical papers will be included in the conference proceedings, and highly-rated papers will also be included in the APMI’s International Journal of Powder Metallurgy or Select Manuscripts distribution.

Abstract Submission Deadline: November 13, 2020

Technical Sessions

Regular technical sessions include papers of original and unpublished work addressing recent advances in the full spectrum of powder metallurgy & particulate materials technologies. The technical sessions are forums to review and publicize recent work contributing to the state of the art and/or discussing emerging areas of interest. All submissions should clearly outline the results of the latest research, innovations, or improvements in PM processing or products.

All accepted abstracts will require manuscripts prior to presentation at the conference.

Moving Forward

We know travel plans are uncertain right now, but we are moving forward with our campaign for a professionally rewarding conference. As in the past, MPIF will strive to make this a safe and enjoyable conference, with controlled networking events, including our acclaimed exhibit hall. If plans for our conference change, presenters and exhibitors will be among the first to know. If your ability to present at PowderMet2021 changes, just let us know ASAP so that we can update the program before it is finalized.

Special Interest Programs

In addition to the regular technical sessions and posters, several special interest programs are being organized. Presentations in these programs are by invitation only.

Poster Program

Scott Davis, Poster Chairman
Hoeganaes Corporation

This presentation format is suitable for authors who wish to report important work in-progress—research that catches the cutting edge of powder metallurgy or particulate technology.

The poster format lends itself to reporting preliminary research results which may have large potential for industrial development, or simply where this alternate form of presentation is deemed more attractive. In certain cases, authors of abstracts submitted for the general technical session programming will be requested to consider submitting for poster presentation.

All poster program participants will be eligible for Poster Awards. Manuscript submission is encouraged but not mandatory.

Other Conference Activities

  • The 2021 Design Excellence Awards Competition is Now Open
  • General sessions are planned focusing on the international PM industry and topical issues.
  • A trade exhibition featuring international suppliers of metal powders, components, equipment, and related services.
  • Special events, luncheons, receptions, and other functions will be planned.

All topics related to metal additive manufacturing should be submitted to the co-located conference Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy—2021
