Find a Fabricator

Are you looking for a powder metallurgy fabricator? Use the directory below to find the right PM fabricator to build your component. Search based on the type of process (press-and-sinter/conventional powder metallurgy, metal injection molding, isostatic pressing, and metal additive manufacturing), material, type of part, or even by industry segment. From bearings and flanges to spray nozzles and flow restrictors, our directory encompasses well over 100 member companies of the Metal Powder Industries Federation who are ready to help you design your PM component.

Involving a powder metallurgy parts manufacturer early in the design process is important. Accurate specifications are essential to formulating quotes.
Download a checklist to help sort out specific design needs before or during your initial conversation with a potential PM fabricator.

Materials:
In addition to 3 types of proprietary high density, high impact strength and wear resistant materials, ASCO Sintering offers all materials in the MPIF Standard 35 Structural Parts and Self Lubricating Bearing Standards such as: iron, copper and nickel steels, sinter hardening steel, low alloy steels, copper-infiltrated steel; 300 - 400 series stainless steels; brass, bronze, copper, and Monel™; nickel, nickel silver, 50-50 nickel iron, phosphorous iron, and soft magnetic alloys. Types of Parts: ASCO Sintering has developed a number of innovative technologies that increase performance and reduce system cost in a variety of applications: Planetary Gear Carrier plates with posts and gear produced simultaneously, AGMA class 8 spur gears, class 9 fine pitch gears, ratchets, bevel gears, latch bolts, dead bolts, slides, locking rings, pawls, cams, sprockets, levers, couplings, sprinkler rotors, spray nozzles, pattern adjusters, cutters, valves, counter balances, linkages, clutch rotors and shoes. Specialties: ASCO is still the “Most awarded company” in the PM Part of the Year competition. Since 1965 ASCO Sintering has maintained strong relationships with several Fortune 500 companies and continues to provide Quality Engineering service and support to the Automotive, Medical, Defense, Oil Exploration and Extraction, Lawn and Garden, Security System Hardware and the Recreational Sports Tool industries through highly engineered solutions for complex, multi-level and miniature PM parts.

Manufacturing Capabilities:
Compacting Equipment: ASCO Sintering’s mechanical withdrawal compaction presses, ranging from 4 to 220 tons, are automatically off-loaded by 3 axis and 6 axis robots and utilize the latest in electronic press control. Today’s hybrid mechanical-pneumatic designs make the complex common. Servo-mechanical and fluidized feed systems improve weight consistency and load cell technology monitors pressing force providing quality control over the compacting process.
Sintering Equipment: Exacting control over sintering and sinter hardening is maintained through computer analysis of atmosphere flow and temperature on furnaces capable of 2400ºF (1300 ºC).
Hardening Equipment: In-house heat treatment furnaces ensure that products satisfy demanding mechanical, strength, fatigue, and performance criteria.
In-house Secondary: Additional operations include coining, sizing, resin and vacuum oil impregnation, piercing, drilling and tapping, ball sizing, vibratory deburring, and automated assembly.
Engineering Design: ASCO practices Collaborative Product Design (CPD), with our engineering staff working with customers to ensure the most robust, reliable PM solution using Solid Works software.

Quality Assurance: The ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, supported by 15 SIX Sigma Green belts, allow ASCO Sintering Co to be TS16949 Compliant and provide consistent conformance to demanding quality and continuous improvement requirements. Networked Statistical Process Control (SPC) and automated visual inspection systems are integral parts of quality control. Quality Systems and methods include coordinate measuring machines, comparator vision inspection, Destructive and resonant non-destructive testing, yield, stress, strain, torque and tensile destructive testing, density testing, plating thickness testing, and surface roughness testing.
